Delonte’s Navy career first brought the couple to Kings Bay, and after being stationed in the area multiple times, Camden County began to feel like home. The idea for Lowcountry Lure & Line grew from Delonte’s friendship with business partner Ricky Jenkins. The two met through fishing and repeatedly found themselves traveling to Jacksonville, Amelia Island, and surrounding areas just to find the gear they needed. Eventually, the answer became obvious: Camden County needed its own tackle shop. What started as conversations between fishing buddies turned into a real business.
But Lowcountry Lure & Line was never intended to be just another retail store. Delonte and Brooke describe it as a community-driven, one-stop fishing destination where customers can find gear, bait and supplies for freshwater, inshore and offshore fishing while also getting real advice about what’s biting, which rigs to use and what techniques may work. The shop is also creating opportunities for local lure makers and other area businesses to get their products in front of local anglers.
